Etch A Sweater Crochet Pattern

This is a made-to-measure garment pattern design. The pattern is written in English and uses U.S. crochet terms. This is an advanced beginner level pattern and utilizes HDC for the majority of its construction. Crocheting with multiple colors at one time is required to create the picture on this sweater. Some surface crochet is optional. having experience with tapestry or fair-isle crochet and surface crochet will aid you in the construction of this sweater.
You will need the following materials to make this pattern: 

• 800-1400 yards in your main color (worsted/weight 4 yarn)
• > 70 yards in red (worsted/weight 4 yarn)
• > 50 yards in light gray (worsted/weight 4 yarn)
• > 50 yards in yellow or gold (worsted/weight 4 yarn)
• > 30 yards in dark gray (worsted/weight 4 yarn)
• > 10 yards in white (worsted/weight 4 yarn)
• 4mm hook
• stitch markers
• tapestry/darning needle
• scissors 
• tape measure
• calculator
